What a time to be alive for a GIS enthusiast! In celebration of its Cartography Division's 75th Anniversary, the CIA is sharing declassified maps. Decades of once-secret maps are now available online - for free!

Today, most intelligence agencies rely more on digital mapping. For decades, though, the CIA relied heavily upon cartographers and geographers for accurate maps that could mean life or death for spies and soldiers alike.

From allocations of water resources to the Leningrad Front during WWII, these maps tell a story about American (and global) history that may have been untapped until now.
